Objective

Designing a visually appealing website for the Indonesian Student Association at the University of Washington (ISAUW) that promotes identity among Indonesian students and can be easily maintained. Users will mainly visit the website to find out about ISAUW, find out about current officers, check for upcoming events , and view the gallery for photos.

Description

I designed and developed an organizational website that provides the student association with an effective medium to convey information about the organization and its activities, while building a strong community among Indonesian peers studying in UW and neighboring colleges. The website is used as a supplemental tool to connect to students besides the mailing list. It also provides specialized information for Indonesian students on various legal matters such as immigration procedures. To create this website, I conducted an audience analysis and research to determine the theme, layout, and content. More details can be obtained in the full report (please email me for access).

The old design (shown in the following figure) uses purple and yellow, which adheres more to the university community as a whole, and not specific to the Indonesian community. For the new design, I have incorporated colors (red and white) that closely resemble the Indonesian flag.
I also designed a cascading style sheet to maintain structure and organization in the data.
